SCOPE
This project consists of enhancing, modifying, and rehabilitating the London Bridge in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. The bridge was built in 1968-1971 and consists of a 5-span structure consisting of a 3-cell reinforced concrete box girder superstructure with cantilevered end spans. The bridge foundations consist of spread footings that support the superstructure through bearing pads on top of concrete pedestals which sit on the spread footings. The concrete core of the bridge is covered by granite stone facing that was relocated from the original London Bridge in London, England. This project provides repairs to the flooded bearing chamber in Pier D, improvements to the south abutment slope through the installation of slope paving, lighting modifications in both abutment end spans, replacement of the door at the south abutment entrance, and replacement of the segmental expansion joints in Spans 2 and 4 and sealing the open joints around the portal access openings across open joints.
