SCOPE
The work to be done consists of sidewalk, curb and gutter, pedestrian crossings, bike lanes, transit islands, curb ramps, signal lighting, bio-retention area, and roadway improvements along Hearst Avenue from Henry Street to La Loma Avenue/Gayley Road within the City of Berkeley. See location map and plans. The work consists of constructing new sidewalk bulbouts, new concrete sidewalk, new concrete curb and gutter, storm drainage modifications, traffic striping, traffic pavement markings, disabled access ramps, upgrades to existing signals, installation of one new traffic signal, bus boarding islands, rapid repeating flashing beacons, bio-retention facility, new landscaping and irrigation, and pavement rehabilitation. This work includes, but is not limited to, the removal of existing conditions, sawcutting, removal of existing pavement, curb, gutter, and sidewalk, as required, cleaning of street as necessary, adjusting to grade such City structures as are affected by the work.
