SCOPE
The City of Rio Rancho is soliciting formal bids for the construction of Broadmoor Boulevard. This project stretches from Northern Blvd. to north of Paseo del Volcan, and includes roadway improvements consisting of crack-seal, and overlay for the existing section from Northern to Linderhoff Ave, and a new two-lane paved roadway would be constructed from Linderhoff Avenue to Paseo del Volcan. The typical section would consist of two 12-foot driving lanes and two 2-foot shoulders. There would be a 2.0-foot curb and gutter on the outside west roadway lane from Marksburg Avenue to Norwich Avenue. South of the Montezuma Boulevard intersection, there would be an 8-foot vertical cut to correct sight distance issues. At the intersection of Idalia Road and Broadmoor Boulevard, pavement widening would occur on all legs of the intersection to provide for a right or left-turn bay. A temporary signal would be installed to improve intersection safety. At the Paseo del Volcan intersection, a dedicated northbound right-turn lane would be constructed. A traffic signal would be installed at the intersection of Broadmoor Blvd. and Paseo del Volcan. Pavement widening will occur along the east side of Broadmoor Blvd. north of Paseo del Volcan to accommodate the lane configuration at the traffic signal. Corrugated metal pipes (CMPs) would be installed under the new stretch of roadway to facilitate drainage. Access roads on the east side of Broadmoor Boulevard at the northern end will be graded to provide access to future area homes. The roads will be two 12-foot unimproved lanes. The road would be 24 feet wide with a 50-foot right-of-way.
