SCOPE
IN EVALUATION. RFQ process, award 11/19. All debris accumulated from tree pruning shall be removed by the Contractor during the same working day. Seasonally, the Contractor shall provide weekly removal of fallen leaves, acorns or fruits after the initial request to begin is given by the City. The cleaning shall be considered routine work, with all required labor at no additional cost to the City. The Contractor shall be responsible for staking, tying, removing or loosening of ties, and removal of tree stakes, as needed. The Contractor shall be held liable for any damage to the trees due to poor management procedures. If the tree dies or fails as a result of Contractor negligence, including newly planted and transplanted material, the replacement item, of comparable size, shall be provided by the Contractor with all required labor at no cost to the City. All tree removals shall be approved by the City, in writing, before the Contractor begins any work. All holes from removed trees shall be filled, or refilled, until grade level is maintained. Any irrigation emitters for a removed tree will be capped. Storm damage and vandalism shall be documented by the Contractor in writing. D. Palm Trees Palm trees shall be pruned annually, removing the inflorescences before fruit develops, and dead fronds, in May or June. The use of a bucket truck, aerial lift device and/or ladders shall be the permissible methods to access the tree’s crown. Climbing with spikes shall not be considered acceptable unless no other method can be utilized
