AWARD NOT COMPLETE. FIRMS THAT SUBMITTED: Core, Haydon, Holder, Kitchell, McCarthy, Okland, Skanska, Sun Eagle, Whiting-Turner Arizona State University (ASU) proposes to construct a new North Campus Satellite Central Plant (NCSCP) at the east side of Parking Structure 5 in the triangular area currently used for storm water retention. The proposed Central Plant will provide chilled water and utility services to the new P.V. Engineering Residence Hall, as well as provide expansion capability of chilled water up to 5K ton capacity when fully developed. The current project will provide up to (approx.) 1,670 ton of capacity to serve the proposed building. The main floor plan will include a mechanical chiller room, electrical room, operation office, IT and storage rooms, as well as a unisex bathroom. The NCSCP will include the design of the control system to connect to the ASU Main central plant via existing tunnels for monitoring, control and redundancy. The main floor will include 3,700 sq. ft. with approx.700 sq. ft. mezzanine space. The roof top will house a series of cooling towers. There will be a utility vault for interfacing to the site utilities and for expansion purposes. The project will also include the development of on-site utility services for the proposed 450K sq. ft. of residence hall facility. The appropriate size utilities will be brought within 5 feet of the proposed building. The onsite utilities will include, but not limited to, DCW, sewer, electrical, and EM power.
