SCOPE
The proposed CMAR project is located in Maricopa County beginning at SR 51/SR 101L system interchange. The project will construct Black Mountain Boulevard (BMB) between SR 51 and Pinnacle Peak Road. Extension of BMB is a City of Phoenix project to be administered by ADOT. Black Mountain Blvd northbound and southbound ramps will connect with the existing SR 51 NB and SB ramps. The ramps will cross SR 101 L on elevated ramp structures and transition to an at-grade roadway at the northern boundary of the Reach 11 Recreational Area. A roundabout will be constructed at this location to provide access to Reach 11. BMB will be constructed as a four-lane roadway between the roundabout and the existing segment of BMB. The project will repave the existing BMB to its intersection with Deer Valley Road. The remainder of BMB, from Deer Valley Road to its terminus at Pinnacle Peak Road will be constructed as a two-lane roadway. The project will also include construction of a pedestrian bridge overpass, landscaping, street lighting, traffic signal modifications, utility work and reconfiguration of the Veterans Administration well site at the southwest quadrant of BMB and Pinnacle Peak Road.
