SCOPE
BID-093-24. Parks and Open Space. The Boulder County Parks and Open Space (BCPOS) Department is seeking proposals for COLD ASPHALT PAVING (RECYCLE) to resurface the 1.5-mile Legend Ridge trail corridor. The property is located at the intersection of HWY 52 and Legend Ridge Trail, Niwot, CO, 80503. The current surface material is grey crusher fines. The purpose of transitioning to recycled asphalt is to improve accessibility for various trail user groups including those with mobility restrictions. Public safety concerns have emerged overtime, due to tread erosion. The County is seeking to improve the overall long-term sustainability of the tread surface. Current conditions of the trail confirm that overtime crusher fines cannot endure the steep undulating gradient throughout the loop. Erosion is prevalent at the steepest sections; sediment resembles sand pits in the low-lying areas within the corridor. Users avoid these sections resulting in social trails paralleling nearly the entire loop due to the instability of the current tread surface. https://bouldercounty.gov/government/bids-and-purchasing/bid-opportunities/details/legend-ridge-trail-resurfacing/
