AGENCY
Central Arizona Project
ESTIMATE
$50,000,000
SCOPE
Twenty-one problem areas along the CAP system, from Wittmann to Marana, have been identified. CAWCD has grouped these problem areas geographically into six Phases: Wittmann, Scottsdale, Coolidge, Red Rock, Marana, and Skunk Creek. In addition to overtopping, embankment failure modes due to internal erosion, cracking, and erosion are required to mitigated. The estimated construction budget for Phase 1 is $10 Million and Phase 2 is $40 Million. Phase 1 will include improvements performed over several miles of the canal from Canal Milepost 127.8 to Milepost 138.66 in the Wittman area. Construction improvements will provide flood protection improvements in areas of the CAP aqueduct that have been identified as having potential for overtopping in a 100-year, storm. (See attached Map for Reference). (Option) Phase 2 of the project which will include improvements performed over several miles of the canal from Canal Milepost 127.8 to Milepost 138.66 in the Scottsdale area. Construction improvements will provide flood protection improvements in areas of the CAP aqueduct that have been identified as having potential for overtopping in a 100-year, storm. rbuelow@cap-az.com
