SCOPE
The proposed Laurel Canyon Blvd Bridge Widening over Tujunga Wash Project is located in the City of Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, in the Sun Valley and Arleta Heights area. The Laurel Canyon Boulevard Bridge (53C-1233) is a 61-foot wide, four-lane, Class II major highway that runs north-south over Tujunga Wash. The proposed project will widen the existing box girder bridge by 19.5 feet on each side to a total width of 100 feet to match existing and planned approach roadways; thereby improving the major north-south through traffic movements between the Arleta and Sun Valley neighborhoods. Project improvements also include new decorative concrete railings, street lighting, sidewalks, utility conduits, maintenance hole adjustments, refinished bridge deck, structure approach slab, temporary traffic control, shoulders, median, curb and gutter, AC resurfacing, and permanent striping and signing.
