SCOPE
GENERAL This contract provides for drainage improvements along Elgie Street and Tiger Creek at Texas and Pine Streets within the City of Vidor, Texas. Proposed improvements include regrading of existing ditches, installing a new storm sewer along Elgie Street, including surface inlets, relocating a portion of Tiger Creek, removing and replacing road crossing at Texas Street and Pine Street and all associated appurtenances. Elgie Street (Base Bid – Sta. 0+00 to Sta. 4+10) 1. The Contractor shall install approximately 360 linear feet of 7’ x 4’ reinforced concrete box culvert per TxDOT Item 462 including ROW preparation, excavation, bedding, backfill, shoring, trench protection, repair of unsuitable subgrade, disposal of excess material, rock base per TxDOT Item 247, reinforced concrete wingwalls per TxDOT Item 466, and reinforced concrete Rip Rap per TxDOT Item 432, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 2. The Contractor shall tie in existing 12” drain culverts to proposed 7’x4’ box culvert, including excavation, backfill, removal of existing RCP pipe, new 12” RCP piping, and connection to box culvert, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 3. The Contractor shall remove and dispose of all unsuitable subgrade material per TxDOT Item 110, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 4. The Contractor shall repair and reshape drives and repair streets along the route of the box culvert per TxDOT Item 530, including 3” of compacted HMAC per TxDOT Item 340, and limestone base per TxDOT Item 247all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 5. The Contactor shall furnish and install approximately 2,880 square feet of temporary shoring per TxDOT Item 403, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 6. The Contractor shall install surface inlets, including excavation, backfill, grating, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 7. The Contractor shall remove 4” sanitary sewer service lines in conflict with the installation of the proposed culvert, including excavation, backfill, piping, connections to existing service lines, clean outs, and 8” steel casing, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 8. The Contractor shall install TxDOT Type SW-O reinforced concrete wingwalls at the channel entrance and outfall, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 9. The contractor shall install 5” thick concrete riprap apron at the channel entrance and outfall, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 10. The Contractor shall adjust manholes and valves along the route per TxDOT Item 479, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 11. The Contractor shall install approximately 120 linear feet of chain link fence, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 12. The Contractor shall provide for erosion control, including SW3P plan, installation and maintenance, temporary seeding, fertilizing and watering all per TxDOT Item 506 and all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 13. The Contractor shall install and maintain traffic control during construction, including signs, barricades and handling per TxDOT Item 502, all in strict accordance with plans and specifications. Elgie Street (Additive Bid Items – Sta. 4+10 to Sta. 7+04) 1. The Contractor shall install approximately 294 linear feet of 7’ x 4’ reinforced concrete box culvert per TxDOT Item 462 including ROW preparation per TxDOT Item 100, excavation, backfill, shoring, trench protection, repair of unsuitable subgrade, rock base per TxDOT Item 247, reinforced concrete wingwalls per TxDOT Item 466, and reinforced concrete Rip Rap per TxDOT Item 432, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 2. The Contractor shall remove and dispose of all unsuitable subgrade material per TxDOT Item 110, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 3. The Contractor shall install TxDOT Type SW-O reinforced concrete wingwalls at the channel entrance, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 6. The contractor shall install 5” thick concrete riprap apron at the channel entrance, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 7. The Contactor shall furnish and install approximately 2,352 square feet of temporary shoring per TxDOT Item 403, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 8. The Contractor shall install surface inlets, including excavation, backfill, grating, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 9. The Contractor shall repair drives and streets along the route of the box culvert per TxDOT Item 530, including 2” of compacted HMAC per TxDOT Item 340, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 10. The Contractor shall encase the existing 4” gas line in a 10” x 10” red concrete block across the proposed ditch. 11. The Contractor shall install storm drain inlets, including excavation, backfill, grating, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 12. The Contractor shall remove 4” sanitary sewer service lines in conflict with the installation of the proposed culvert, including excavation, backfill, piping, connections to existing service lines, clean outs, and 8” steel casing, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 13. The Contractor shall adjust manholes and valves along the route per TxDOT Item 479, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 14. The Contractor shall provide for erosion control, including SW3P plan, installation and maintenance, temporary seeding, fertilizing, and watering all per TxDOT Item 506 and all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 15. The Contractor shall install and maintain traffic control during construction, including signs, barricades and handling per TxDOT Item 502, all in strict accordance with plans and specifications. Tiger Creek Relocation A. Pine Street. 1. The Contractor shall remove and replace two existing 48” RCP pipes with approximately 26 linear feet of new 8’ x 4’ reinforced concrete box culvert per TxDOT Item 462, including ROW preparation per TxDOT Item 100, excavation, backfill, disposal of existing RCP pipe, shoring, trench protection, repair of unsuitable subgrade, rock base per TxDOT Item 247, reinforced concrete wingwalls per TxDOT Item 466, and reinforced concrete Rip Rap per TxDOT Item 432, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 2. The contractor shall restore the existing roadway as described in the plans and Bid Proposal by reworking the sub-base including proof rolling and treating with Lime-Fly Ash per TxDOT Item 265, installing limestone base per TxDOT Item 247 and asphalt per TxDOT Item 340, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 3. The Contractor shall provide for erosion control, including SW3P plan, installation and maintenance, temporary seeding, fertilizing, and watering all per TxDOT Item 506 and all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 4. The Contractor shall install TxDOT Type PW-2 reinforced concrete wingwalls at the channel entrance, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 5. The Contractor shall repair the road after installing the new 8’x4’ box culverts, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 6. The Contractor shall install and maintain traffic control during construction, including signs, barricades, and handling per TxDOT Item 502, all in strict accordance with plans and specifications. 7. The Contractor shall provide for utility relocation, all in strict accordance with plans and specifications. 8. The Contractor shall realign the existing ditch between Texas and Pine streets including all excavation and backfill, removal and disposal of existing culverts, repair of asphalt streets, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. B. Texas Street 1. The Contractor shall remove and replace two existing 48” RCP pipes with approximately 26 linear feet of new 8’ x 4’ reinforced concrete box culvert per TxDOT Item 462, including ROW preparation per TxDOT Item 100, excavation, backfill, disposal of existing RCP pipe, shoring, trench protection, repair of unsuitable subgrade, rock base per TxDOT Item 247, reinforced concrete wingwalls per TxDOT Item 466, and reinforced concrete Rip Rap per TxDOT Item 432, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 2. The Contractor shall provide for utility relocation, all in strict accordance with plans and specifications. 8. The Contractor shall realign the existing ditch between Texas and Pine streets including all excavation and backfill, removal and disposal of existing culverts, repair of asphalt streets, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 9.
