SCOPE OF WORK CITY OF ROSE HILL ACRES, TEXAS CDBG DR CONTRACT No. 20-065-148-C903 STREET IMPROVEMENTS GENERAL This contract shall provide for street improvements for the City of Rose Hill Acres, Texas. The work will be conducted at multiple sites throughout Rose Hill Acres. This contract shall include all necessary labor, equipment, materials, safety measures, environmental protection, disposal of surplus items, disposal of hazardous waste if required, site regrading, site restoration and all other related construction for the street improvements. The contractor shall coordinate with City personnel prior to beginning any traffic control measures. It shall be the responsibility of the bidders to carefully inspect the site conditions to complete all work in accordance with the contract specifications. The Contractor shall use the materials specified, or materials of another manufacturer that are deemed equivalent in the opinion of the Engineer to the materials specified. In the event the Contractor desires to substitute the products of another manufacturer, he shall apply to the Engineer in writing at least seven days prior to the bid date requesting substitution and shall furnish with his request complete descriptive materials plus manufacturers recommendations for preparation and application. WORK TO BE ACCOMPLISHED Contractor shall coordinate with City personnel prior to commencing work. All work is to be performed in strict accordance with the guidelines and procedures set forth within the Contract Specifications. This contract includes, but is not limited to, the following: Subgrade Preparation (10” deep). Mix, pulverize, and Lime/Fly-Ash treat approximately 38,513 square yards of existing asphalt surface and subgrade to a depth of 10” to act as new subgrade. Asphalt Surfacing (2” thick). Install approximately 32,724 square yards. HMAC Type D asphaltic concrete including intersections and driveway turnouts. Clean approximately 4,702 linear feet of driveway culverts from 12” to 24” diameter. Clean and regrade approximately 23,493 linear feet of roadside drainage ditch. Furnish and install approximately 3,906 linear feet of 15” – 24” RCP culvert under road and driveways. Furnish and install culvert crossings with headwalls on Dorothy and Morris. WARRANTY AND CLEANUP The Contractor shall provide warranty to the Owner for a period of one (1) year the road and culvert from the date of final inspection and acceptance to the extent that he will repair any defects which may appear in the structure and/or coating due to faulty installation, painting or structural repairs. CONDITIONS ALONG THE ROUTES The Contractor's attention is called to various physical conditions along the routes as follows. Overhead power lines are located near or within the project site. The Contractor shall notify proper authorities at least 72 hours before construction begins. The Contractor shall take precautions to avoid damage to power lines, foundations, guy wires, and appurtenances. The Contractor shall observe all applicable OSHA and owner requirements while working near the overhead power lines including restriction of height of equipment. Underground utilities exist near or within the project area. During construction the Contractor shall take the necessary precautions to avoid damaging the existing utilities within the limits of the project site. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS The Contractor shall pay close attention to the project schedule to ensure that the work is completed in a timely manner without delays. Contractor shall restore the project site to its original condition or better, in accordance with environmental requirements, prior to the project completion and Owner’s acceptance.
