SCOPE
The Project includes the construction of a 12-feet-wide, new pedestrian/bicycle overcrossing on north side of the existing US 101 / University Avenue Bridge. The overcrossing is a 4-span structure approximately 560 feet long. On the east side of the freeway, a Class I bikeway will be constructed from the overcrossing to Donohue Street. On the west side of the overcrossing, a 12-foot-wide Class I bikeway will be constructed from the overcrossing to Woodland Avenue. The Project will narrow the southbound University Avenue left turn lane at Woodland Avenue from 12 feet to 11 feet wide and reduce the median width from 6 feet to 4 feet. The Project will widen the existing southbound US 101 to University Avenue loop off-ramp from three lanes to four lanes. The northbound US 101 to southbound University Avenue loop off-ramp would be realigned to square up with University Avenue with a tighter-radius-curve for pedestrian and bicyclist safety enhancement. The Project includes modifications to traffic signals and additional streetlights. engineering@cityofepa.org
