SCOPE OF WORK CITY OF TAYLOR LANDING, TEXAS CDBG-DR CONTRACT No. 20-065-151-C916 Street Improvements GENERAL This contract provides for asphalt street rehabilitation of Country Club Road within the City of Taylor Landing. SPECIFIC This contract shall include all necessary labor, materials, equipment, tools, inspection, testing, and superintendence required for the complete and functional improvements of the proposed project as shown on the contract plans and specifications. This contract includes, but is not limited to the following: Base Bid: Country Club Road. Contractor shall rehabilitate approximately 6,677 linear feet of asphalt roadway and increase the driving surface width to 22 feet, including chemical treatment of subgrade per TxDOT Item 265, stripping, stockpiling, treating, and installing reclaimed base material, including approximately 9 percent new material for additional width, and applying 2” of Type “D” HMAC surfacing per TxDOT Item 340, including driveway and street transitions, incidental ditch repairs where necessary, and resetting mailboxes (as required), mobilization, traffic control, and stormwater pollution prevention, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. Additive Bid 1: Country Club Road. Contractor shall rehabilitate approximately 1,000 linear feet of asphalt roadway and increase the driving surface width to 22 feet, including chemical treatment of subgrade per TxDOT Item 265, stripping, stockpiling, treating, and installing reclaimed base material, including approximately 9 percent new material for additional width, and applying 2” of Type “D” HMAC surfacing per TxDOT Item 340, including driveway and street transitions, incidental ditch repairs where necessary, and resetting mailboxes (as required), mobilization, traffic control, and stormwater pollution prevention, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. Additive Bid 2: Additional Asphalt Surfacing: Contractor shall increase asphalt surface by one inch, installed monolithically if awarded. Centerline and Edge Line Striping, approximately 9,534 linear feet of dashed pavement markings and approximately 19,086 linear feet of solid pavement markings, including surface preparation. CONDITIONS ALONG THE ROUTES The Contractor's attention is called to various physical conditions along the routes as follows. Overhead power lines are located near or within the project site. The Contractor shall notify proper authorities at least 72 hours before construction begins. The Contractor shall take precautions to avoid damage to power lines, foundations, guy wires, and appurtenances. The Contractor shall observe all applicable OSHA and owner requirements while working near the overhead power lines including restriction of height of equipment. Underground utilities exist near or within the project area. During construction the Contractor shall take the necessary precautions to avoid damaging the existing utilities within the limits of the project site. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS The Contractor shall pay close attention to the project schedule to ensure that the work is completed in a timely manner without delays. Contractor shall restore the project site to its original condition or better, in accordance with environmental requirements, prior to the project completion and Owner’s acceptance.
