PER MESA REP 1/7/15, NO INFO UNTIL END OF FEB: UPDATE 9/29/14: NO SHORTLIST OR AWARD YET: SHORTLIST 9/8/14: The City of Mesa seeks to construct a new water treatment plant at the northeast corner of Signal Butte and Elliot Roads to treat Colorado River water supplied via the Central Arizona Project (CAP) canal to drinking water standards. The plant will initially be a 24 MGD facility with a planned ultimate capacity of 48 MGD. The following major plant components are included in this project: • Operations building • Raw water pressure and flow control facility • Raw water ozone contactor and pH adjustment • Ballasted flocculation facilities • Deep-bed biological filtration, including backwash and air-scour facilities • Residuals facilities, including recovered water basin and pumps, recovered water treatment, and mechanical dewatering • Chemical buildings, including chemical bulk storage, chemical feed systems, ozone generation, and sodium hypochlorite generation • Electrical distribution system, including improvements to the existing electrical building and standby power generation • Site improvements such as roads, parking, drainage facilities, fencing, landscaping, and site lighting The project site currently contains an 8-million gallon buried concrete potable water reservoir, a large pump station serving several City water pressure zones, and the supporting electrical and controls building. Existing perimeter fencing is also in place.
