SCOPE
The City of Big Bear Lake invites bids for the Knickerbocker Creek Trail Project. This project consists of construction of a one-half mile long, open-space, multi-use trail and pocket. This trail will consist of an asphalt concrete, two-lane paved bicycle path, approximately ten feet wide divided by a painted guideline down the middle, as well as edge striping, stop bars, and bike/arrow stenciling. The cycle path butts up to a continuous wrought-iron fence barrier to separate the public from the adjacent Knickerbocker Channel. Gates will span the cycle path at each street intersection. In addition, adjacent to the cycle path, there will be an eight foot wide decomposed granite path for foot travel that spans the entire length of the proposed paved path with a six-foot woodcrete privacy barrier separating the business and residential dwellings from the path. The trail has two pedestrian bridge crossings over Knickerbocker Creek and a caisson-supported boardwalk, trail lighting, drainage improvements, landscaping, and other appurtenant work related to this project.
