SCOPE
The work includes furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment, and performing all work necessary for the construction of the Downtown Improvements (Phase 3) project for the City of Lake Jackson. This project consists of infrastructure improvements for three downtown streets as part of the Downtown Revitalization initiative. The project includes the full-depth reconstruction of approximately 1,200 linear feet of That Way between Parking Way and Oyster Creek Drive, approximately 750 linear feet of Circle Way between That Way and Oak Drive, and approximately 650 linear feet of North Parking Place between Center Way and Circle Way. The improvements are consistent with previous downtown reconstruction phases, and include, but are not limited to, on-street angled parking, ADA sidewalk routes, accessibility to downtown businesses, retaining walls, regrading of existing parkways, extension of the existing storm drain system, water lines, wastewater lines, and associated service connections. Additional improvements in the scope of work include traffic signal modifications at the intersection of That Way and Oyster Creek Drive, street and pedestrian illumination, enhanced hardscape elements, landscaping, and irrigation. The Contractor is expected to work with City of Lake Jackson, business owners, and the public throughout the execution of the Work described in the Contract documents. A traffic control plan is included in the Contract documents, which the Contractor must follow during construction. The Contractor must maintain ADA access to each business in the project area during construction. Multiple businesses on North Parking Place have existing awnings, which are to be removed by a separate Contractor and are not included in the Work. The Contractor must coordinate with the separate Contractor tasked with removing the awnings during construction. The intent of the documents, unless otherwise specifically provided, is to produce complete and finished Work, which the Contractor undertakes to do in full compliance with the Contract Documents. It is not intened to mention every item of Work in the specification that can be adequately shown on the drawings nor to show on the drawings all items of Work described or required by the specifications or identified as a separate pay item. If no separate pay item is provided in the bid form, the Work shall be considered subsidiary to the other pay items. All materials or labor for Work shown on the drawings or reasonably inferable therefrom as being necessary to produce a finished job shall be provided by the Contractor whether or not the same is expressly covered in the specifications.
