SCOPE
The District intends to construct a new 7-12 High School on an undeveloped 80- acre site in a rapidly developing master planned community near Crismon and Riggs Roads in Queen Creek, Arizona. The school will accommodate approximately 1,500 students and will open July 2022. Estimated building size is 175,000 square feet with traditional classrooms, makerspaces, and science labs; a gymnasium (about 40,000 square feet) with locker rooms, training rooms, a weight room and offices; and an administrative building (about 60,000 square feet) with reception lobby, offices, nurses area, cafeteria including full-size kitchen, learning stairs, and performance space including a platform. The site development will include a lighted athletic complex including a multiuse stadium with artificial grass turf surface, 9-lane running track, baseball fields, softball fields, and natural grass practice fields. The project construction budget including any offsite improvements (excluding soft costs) is approximately $50 million. Soft costs generally include design fees, utility service design and connection fees, furniture, fixtures and equipment as well as technology and access controls. Structured cabling and pathways for audio visual equipment, technology and access controls are considered part of the construction budget ddoerzman@qcusd.org
