SCOPE
This project consists of repairing a leaking 72-Inch Concrete Pipe at the location where chemical injection products for the treated water clear well are applied inside a concrete vault. The project includes but it is not limited to: 1. Flushing and cleaning existing clear well with stagnant water to prepare it to receive treated water for sampling and chemical injection. 2. Relocation of 3 injection lines to the discharge of the 48-Inch bypass pipe into the treated water clear well. These lines will be run from the adjacent pipe chase. Open 48-Inch bypass to treated water clear well. 3. Installation of plugs upstream and downstream of 72-Inch water line to empty line in preparation for inspection. Installation requires set up of water leak detection systems to ascertain if water is passing through the plugs. 4. Inspection of 72-Inch water line. Define limits of carbon fiber repair. Set up scaffolding and air supply lines for repair work. 5. If pipe is deemed structurally sound, core 72-Inch pipe at the vault location to install 18-Inch access manway. Install reinforcing concrete and carbon fiber to affix the manway structurally to the pipe and vault assembly. 6. Perform internal pipe repair with carbon fiber in accordance with the limits agreed upon. 7. Provide a replacement sump pump inside the vault with new plumbing and updated sump area. 8. Supply a blind flange fitted with 3 injection threadolets and one sampling pipe threadolet for the proposed 18-Inch access manway. 9. Relocate injection lines and sampling line to new connections inside the vault. Cap and plug temporary injection on the treated water clear well. 10. Remove scaffolding and air supply lines. Remove plugs and close by-pass line. Resume normal operation.
