Calaveras 2017 Winter Storm Recovery Gwin Mine Road

SCOPE
This project, generally described, consists of culvert reconstruction, mechanically stabilized embankment and roadway reconstruction, and rip rap slope protection at various locations along Gwin Mine Road between Mokelumne River and Paloma, California. The culvert to be replaced is approximately 44 feet long and 36 inch diameter with existing concrete headwalls on both ends. Approximately 40-foot of roadway needs to be constructed to restore roadway after culvert replacement. Approximately 260 feet of roadway will be repaired at three washout locations with mechanically stabilized embankment systems. The roadway will need to be reconstructed to restore the condition of the roadway. Minor roadway and slide repairs will be completed at various locations to repair damaged slope and pavement. All new roadway will consist of Hot Mix Asphalt and Class 2 AB. Gwin Mine Road will be closed intermittently during construction. Mark D.
