SCOPE
Granite Construction Company James McMinn Inc. Pyramid Construction and Aggregates, Inc. Spiess Construction Co., Inc. Superior Ready Mix L.P. dba Ryerson Whillock Contracting, Inc. Zusser Company, Inc The scope of this work for this contract will be to mechanically remove the sediment from both the Willey & Bevins Reservoirs with the use of trucks, and to place it at the disposal areas designated by IID and identified in the exhibits in this solicitation. The reservoirs will be put out of operation at the same time; for a period of 3 months (June 3 – August 30, 2019). Water delivery to the reservoirs will be stopped and the existing IID outlet pumps will continue to pump water out of the reservoir until the reservoir is “empty”. For the most part, after a few days, the reservoirs will be empty of water, and it will be the responsibility of the CONTRACTOR to do any necessary additional dewatering in order to “dry” the reservoir for access, and for the sediment to be mechanically removed / loaded onto trucks and hauled away. At any given point, the IID pumps can be shut down in order to prevent caviation, and damage to the IID pumps. Any additional dewatering cost by the contractor to dry the reservoir shall be included in the mobilization pay line item, and no additional compensation will be provided by IID. At the same time the Willey Reservoir is out of operation; the CONTRACTOR shall install the rip-rap along the New River bank. The New River embankment stabilization consists of cutting the slope back and installing 4,750 tons of rip-rap already onsite. cjdeanda@iid.com
