SCOPE
The Johnny G. Martinez Water Treatment Plant (JGMWTP) is located southwest of the intersection of College Avenue and Marigold Lane. The raw water aqueduct is an elevated reinforced concrete structure crossing Marigold Lane built in 1966 consisting of two side-by-side channels supported on concrete piers. The aqueduct supplies raw water to the City of Tempe’s JGMWTP from the Salt River Project (SRP) Crosscut Canal. The aqueduct is in need of structural repairs as shown in the attached construction drawings and specifications. The anticipated construction cost for this project is $725,000. Construction of the repairs must coincide with scheduled shut-down of the JGMWTP. Flow from the SRP canal into the aqueduct will be turned off on the morning of January 7, 2014. The aqueduct must be restored to operating condition and able to receive flow into the JGMWTP on April 2, 2014. Any work requiring the aqueduct to be offline which cannot be completed within this time period will have to be postponed until January 2015.
