SCOPE
Demolish existing 4” of asphalt, remove 12” existing base course and over excavate 1” of soil for full depth road repair shown in Drawing 1. b. Compact existing soil and install geotextile layer. Place 12” of Class 2 base course, and place 3” binder course and 2” wearing course asphalt lifts (CALTRANS HMA mix) per pavement section detail shown in Drawing 2. d. Ktr shall include traffic plan, layout and application of pavement markings. e. Demolish and replace existing curb and gutter as shown in Drawing 1. Demolish and replace curb as shown in Drawing 1. f. Pave to drain (min 1% slope, max 3% slope) matching pavement grade to existing utility covers (no raising or lowering). Note: several utility covers are above natural grade and will have to be feathered into overall drainage grade of asphalt. Covers will not be lowered. Field verification of these covers to be accomplished at site visit. Contractor to conduct boundary, topography survey before demolition to establish grading plan. g. Submit scaled striping plan for government approval prior to layout of markings. h. Provide temporary raised reflective pavement markings prior to opening paved road to traffic. i. Provide thermoplastic pavement markings, and permanent raised markings per ktr approved striping plan, after paving of all phases is complete. Dispose of asphalt millings at a location off of Travis AFB and provide Construction & Debris report within 30 days of disposal for 60 CES/CEI tracking of recycled materials. k. Ktr shall provide on-site vacuum sweeper during all milling operations and to prepare surface for asphalt lift. Area must be swept and clean of debris before government acceptance. l. Ktr to provide detour/signage plan with traffic control as pre-construction submittal for governmental approval at least 4 weeks prior to start of scheduled milling. m. Ktr flaggers and appropriate phasing will be utilized to minimize these closures. If a closure cannot be avoided, the pre-construction submittal will provide proposed detour route showing location and type of all signage and keep the closure time as short as possible. n.
