SCOPE
A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Maricopa County Flood Control District Operations Building conference room, located at 2801 W. Durango Street, Phoenix, Arizona 85009. All potential bidders are required to attend. The project is located within the Town of Gilbert, southeast of the corner of Ray Road and Val Vista Drive. Principal construction features for the project include: fill construction; earthwork for retention basins; installation of 80 MIL HDPE liner; installation of rock mulch; catch basin construction; PVC connector pipe installation; pneumatically placed concrete ditch lining construction; concrete retaining wall construction and dry well installation. There are existing utilities on site including Town of Gilbert water lines, private irrigation lines and SRP overhead electric. In addition there is gas monitoring equipment located towards the northwest edge of the site. Most of the existing utilities and monitoring facilities are to be protected in place. Existing SRP power poles will be removed as indicated on the construction drawings. Existing water lines encountered during construction are to be capped and abandoned in place. The site was used as a landfill from about 1961 to 1982 and investigations performed in 2004, 2012 and 2013 indicate that the depth to the trash surface varies from about 2’ to more than 12’ with the shallowest cover in the vicinity of the north half of propo
