ESTIMATE
$5,000,000
SCOPE
The City of Mesa is proposing the construction of multiple infrastructure improvements within the Horne roadway corridor between Southern Avenue and 6th Avenue, as well as in the adjacent local streets. The various improvements are described in more detail below: • Existing water and gas infrastructure is aging and now planned for lifecycle replacement. The water and gas line replacement is currently proposed between Southern Avenue and Marilyn Avenue. All utilities and associated services will need to remain operational during construction of the new utilities. • A sewer chemical feed line is proposed as part of an improvement to the Horne Sulfide Control Station. This chemical feed line will run from Millet Avenue to the Sulfide Control Station on Horne, located on the east side of Horne, north of Southern Avenue. Sewer lines within Horne are currently intended to remain as existing. • Storm drain improvements are proposed to improve area drainage. A storm drain line ranging in size up to 42” will run from the outlet at the south end of the existing detention basin located at the south-east corner of 9th Avenue and Horne and will connect to the existing 72” storm drain line in Southern Avenue. Additional storm drain infrastructure is being considered upstream of the detention basin including improvements within Horne and 9th Avenue. • City of Mesa and SRP both have overhead electric facilities along the Horne right-of-way. City of Mesa overhead electric lines will be converted to underground as part of this project. SRP overhead electric lines will also be converted to underground. City of Mesa, SRP, and communication lines will utilize a joint trench mainline and will be constructed by SRP. The CM@Risk Contractor will construct all City of Mesa electric laterals, and be responsible for all overhead conversion other than mainline trench and conduit construction.
