Maren Avenue Low Water Crossing Restoration

SCOPE
The scope of work for this project includes furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, fixtures, and services required to restore the Maren Avenue paved low-water crossing of Black Canyon Creek, severely damaged during an extraordinary flood event in January 2010. The main features of this project include construction of an unpaved temporary bypass roadway downstream of the roadway crossing then removal of a temporary earthen ramp, remaining concrete roadway crossing and a portion of the paved roadway approaches. Material will then be excavated and removed from the creek bottom and approaches to the crossing and a 4-foot thick soil cement base for the roadway will be constructed and backfilled with a portion of the removed creek bed alluvium. Existing 36” CMP culverts will be removed, salvaged, extended and re-set into the soil cement base. A new reinforced Portland cement concrete roadway creek crossing will be constructed on the soil cement base and the approaches to the crossing re-graded and paved with asphalt cement concrete. The temporary bypass road will be removed and the creek bottom graded to its original configuration. Signage and miscellaneous items will be included in this project.
