SCOPE
The scope of work for the project is summarized as follows: 1) Site work consisting of demolition of existing metal building and reinforced concrete slab foundation, sawcutting/removing existing paving, tree and stump removal, removing/salvaging existing AC unit, and other demolition, removing existing and furnishing/installing new septic tank and extending sewer service lines and cleanouts, excavation/construction of underground site drainage piping and drop inlets, site grading and earthwork for construction of new retaining wall and associated site backfill, placement of filter fabric, rip rap and new hot mix asphalt paving. 2) Construction of process piping, fittings, valves, and appurtenances, both above ground and buried including excavation, backfill and compaction for installation of: a) 18, 20 & 24 diameter piping separate inlet and outlet lines/connections between the new pretreatment unit and existing raw water line, and b) 3, 4 & 6 diameter piping from pretreatment system waste and drain lines connected to existing solids thickener center feedwell and decant line. 3) Excavation, formwork, placement, finishing and curing of steel reinforced concrete slabs on grade, wetwell, underground footings, vertical walls, equipment pads, vaults and other miscellaneous concrete work as shown on the project drawings. Maintain a contained/controlled concrete washout area for concrete trucks after delivery and placement of concrete. 4) Provide metal grating, stairs, handrails, ships ladder, vault covers, and other miscellaneous metals. 5) Furnish/install new pretreatment unit and ancillary equipment (recirculation pumps, mixers, scrappers, hydrocyclones, sand cone hopper, etc.) as supplied by manufacturer. Also, upon delivery, provide a crane of size/capacity rating to unload and set/place pretreatment unit. 6) Furnish/install three (3) new variable speed process pumps with 25-hp motors, setting pumps and anchoring bases, construction of 12 intake and 10 discharge piping including associated fittings, valves (check, isolation, air), and other appurtenances. Calaveras County Water District 00100-2 August 2017 Jenny Lind WTP Pretreatment Improvements 7) Construction of coagulant, polymer and permanganate chemical feed systems including fiberglass building, eyewash, polymer storge tank, polymer blending system, inline mechanical mixer, static mixer (inside underground vault), chemical injection quills, metering pumps, chemical feed tubing, and secondary containment piping. For secondary containment casing/piping, provide excavation and backfill for buried/underground installation. 8) Perform upgrade of PG&E main electrical service entrance. Demolish/remove existing 1000 amp main switchboard, existing power distribution sections, and existing 1200 amp automatic transfer switch (ATS) inside the existing generator building. Furnish/install new 1600 amp meter main switchboard (MMS) in outdoor enclosure and new 1600 amp ATS located inside the existing generator building and new power distribution switchboards (PDS-1 & 2) also inside the building. Provide required grounding and ground rods. Demolish/remove existing cast in place concrete transformer pad and replacing with standard 106x90 precast pad and furnish/install new underground secondary conduits from transformer to MMS. PG&E to provide/set new 1000 KVA transformer and install secondary conductors to MSS. Contractor to furnish/install all conduits (buried/exposed) and conductors from MSS to complete electrical connections to new ATS and new distribution switchboards. Contractor shall furnish and install required barrier posts. All distribution loads shall be disconnection and reconnecting by Contractor. All coordination and scheduling with PG&E is the responsibility of the Contractor. 9) For pretreatment unit, install new outdoor control panel supplied by manufacture, and provide new outdoor motor control center with three variable frequency drives for process pumps and control CP-200 relay section. Both control panels to have seismic anchoring to cast in place concrete equipment pads and protected by barrier posts. Provide all electrical conduits (buried/exposed) and conductors for control and distribution panels to complete connections to new pretreatment unit, process pumps, polymer building, and other new facilities. 10) Perform successful statup and testing of all systems and equipment for pretreatment system components, electrical panels, pumps, valves, chemical systems, etc. Coordinate startup and testing with various equipment manufacturers including coordination of final performance certification testing of the pretreatment sytem.
