SCOPE
FIRMS SUBMITTED: ARCHER WESTERN; PCL; KIEWIT; COFFMAN The Flood Control District of Maricopa County has initiated design work for modifications to Cave Buttes Dam under a consultant contract with URS. While this dam has no Arizona Department of Water Resources (ADWR) dam safety deficiencies, the District intends to implement dam safety improvements to the existing Cave Buttes Dam. The dam safety improvements consist of a new auxiliary outlet tunnel and pipeline under Dike No. 1, gated inlet structure, outlet structure, and associated inlet/outlet channelization, which will decrease the time for the ponded storm water behind the dam to drain. This is a complex project and, as such, the District will select the Construction Contract based on qualifications to provide valuable input to the design effort under the Construction Management At Risk contracting method. The estimated value of the Pre-Construction Contract is Four Hundred Thousand to Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($400,000.00 - $500,000.00). The estimated value of the construction cost is between Four and Eight Million Dollars ($4,000,000.00 - $8,000,000.00) Both a Mandatory Site Visit, and Mandatory Pre-Proposal Conference have been scheduled for this procurement.
