SHORTLISTING OF FIRMS: Coffman; Hunter; Pulice; Skanska SELECTED FIRM 12/5/12 The project includes rehabilitation of the Principal Spillway, Auxiliary Spillway and a 4.7 milelong section of the existing earthen-embankment dam that parallels Interstate 10 near Buckeye, Arizona. The height of the embankment varies from 3 feet to 28 feet. Major construction items are summarized below: -Clearing and grubbing of the upstream and downstream side slopes of the 4.7-mile-long dam embankment (embankment). -Excavation of a 2.5-foot-wide trench along the centerline of the embankment, with depths ranging from 7 feet to 45 feet. -Installation of a geotextile on downstream face of the trench and backfilling of the trench with granular filter material. -Regrading the top of dam and placing a 4-inch layer of aggregate base. -Construction of three earthen access ramps to the top of the embankment. -Hydroseeding and placing a 3-inch layer of rock mulch on the upstream and downstream side slopes. -Hydroseeding of disturbance areas. -Abandonment and partial removal of a 150-foot long, 12-inch diameter RCP and cradle. The removal may require trenching and shoring to allow human access to depths of 35 feet. -Installation of a soil-cement grade control structure and rock riprap to a depth of 25 feet across the existing 800-foot-wide auxiliary spillway. -Installation of 900 linear feet of soil-cement and riprap bank protection on the auxiliary spillway. -Installation of a
