JOB
Sausal Creek Erosion Control Restoration
BID DATE
05/11/17 - 2:00
AGENCY
Oakland
ESTIMATE
$222,428
SCOPE
Drain Site 1 activities to remediate a 250 foot long eroded gully include installation of a rock lined drainage channel with check dams; drop inlet structure with 12 diameter high-density polyethylene pipe discharging to a planted rock riprap; coir log check dams with willow baffles; and a large woody debris root wad anchored and pinned to 2-ton boulders wedged on against the large woody debris structure. • Drain Site 2 activities to remediate an erosion gully below a steep hillside include extending the storm drain line down the slope installing a planted rock riprap energy dissipater at the discharge location near the creek channel. The existing concrete curb and drop inlet will be removed and replaced with a standard 6-inch-high curb, and the flow line into the inlet will be improved. An improved landscape berm will be constructed to prevent runoff from overtopping the curb and running over the hillside. The drop inlet at street level will be rehabilitated and the 18 storm drain culvert will be anchored at the curb inlet at top slope and by cable supports and a thrust block further downslope. • Drain Site 3 activities include installation of rock check dams at existing gully drainage, 12 diameter concrete storm drain pipe underneath existing trail, and construction of two grass swales ( 240 ft2 and 280 ft2) for increased infiltration of stormwater. vinman@oaklandnet.com
